Between April 23 and April 27, 2019, Dr Kuan-Han Lin, Assistant Professor of Department of Healthcare Administration, visited the Universities Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Universitas Islam Inodesia (UII), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA), and Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) to discuss future collaboration on the summer program, academic exchanges, and joint research between Department of Healthcare Administration and the Universities.

During the visit, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Linda Rosita, and Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Nur Aisyah Jamil of UII indicated that it would be a good opportunity for UII to cooperate with Asia University (AU) in student exchange collaborative programs, summer short-term studies, and joint research. This year, they are going to send several students to AU for summer program. They also hope that the students from the Department of Healthcare Administration could come to join their summer program in the field of community health. Moreover, Assistant Professor Kuan-Han Lin has been invited by Dr. Linda Rosita to become one of the reviewers for the journal “Indonesian Journal of Medicine and Health”. Vice Dean, Dr. Nur Aisyah Jamil, also showed Assistant Professor Kuan-Han Lin the Canki Kimpulan, a 9th to 10th century Hindu temple located in the UII campus. The temple was accidentally discovered on 11 December 2009 during land excavations to lay foundations for the construction of a new university library.

Additionally, the Dean of the Department of Medicine of UMM also invited Assistant Professor Kuan-Han Lin to give their medical students a guest lecture talking about the glance of Department of Healthcare Administration. Many students were excited to hear about the introduction of our Department, and they expressed a genuine interest in the program we are offering. The lecture was a great success.

In summary, this visit is a good start for the Department of Healthcare Administration and the universities in Indonesia to develop the friendships between universities and to offer the opportunities for more positive academic exchange and joint research in the near future.
